
PROJECT MANAGER - DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PREVENTION PROGRAMME
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Job Purpose
• To lead the Domestic Violence Prevention Programme
• To support the business development of the programme and ensure that services are successfully sustained.
• To ensure the programme works within the Safety and Quality Guidelines as laid down by Respect, with the long-term aim of achieving Respect Accreditation.
• To bring national and regional perspectives to the project and to be the principal link between the staff team and the Strategy Co-ordinator.
• To support the personal and professional development of the team and individuals within the team.
2. Accountability
• The Project Manager is accountable to the Strategy Co-ordinator and is required to work within the local policies decided by the Board of Directors.

4. Key Tasks
4.1 Day to day co-ordination of the Domestic Violence Prevention Programme
• Risk meetings – chair, co-ordinate, prepare all relevant information for and write up all notes, carrying out action points where necessary.
• Practice supervision – prepare for and attend meetings
• Casework
• Setting up and maintaining filing/recording/information systems
• Responsible for ensuring sessions are covered adequately
• Ensuring emergency cover of services is provided when necessary
• Ensure that all practitioners carry out their work in accordance with agreed standards and within the policies and guidelines laid down.
• Ensure that Child Protection principals and guidelines are adhered to.
• Ensure that data is kept up to date, ie cover, diaries, appointment systems, resource database, client database, directories, general published information and leaflets
• Ensure that necessary forms, equipment and other supplies are available, reviewed and in good supply for the Project
• Ensure good communication between the team to enable a consistent and supportive approach for both clients and practitioners
• Ensure that the services are developed appropriately to meet clients’ needs.
4.2 Quality and Safety
• Ensure the programme is run according to the quality and safety guidelines as laid down by Respect
4.3 Fundraising and Business Development
• Raise funds to sustain services with agreed targets set by the Strategy Co-ordinator.
• Lead the project in its quest for Respect Accreditation – develop the programme as necessary to achieve Respect Accreditation
4.4 Budget Control
• Responsibility for keeping within delegated budgets
• Monitor the use of external funding and bursary schemes
• Maintain financial records
4.5 Recruitment
• Assist in the recruitment of staff and voluntary workers
• Maintain levels of staff as required
4.6 Training
• Organise the introduction and/or training of new staff
• Ensure additional training is accessible to staff to ensure they are kept up to date with current thinking, legislation and practice
4.7 Representation
• Represent Wolverhampton Domestic Violence Forum ideas, policies and aims to outside agencies
• Represent WDVF at appropriate external meetings
• Assist with media liaison, including interviews, press releases, conferences and information.
4.8 Performance Management
• Support and chair regular group meetings of staff
• Be available to provide debriefing support to staff when necessary
• Organise and facilitate periodic meetings with the Strategy Co-ordinator and supervisors to review and assess service provision
• Ensure staff are aware of internal and external training courses, meetings and conferences relating to their work
• Carry out regular staff performance management one-to-one sessions and annual reviews/appraisals in accordance with policies.
4.9 Monitoring and Evaluation
• Monitor and measure effectiveness
• Monitor client details for funders and the annual report and reviews
• Assess the waiting lists and accessibility of the service
• Monitor and maintain the standards of the service as laid down by ethical frameworks
4.10 Other Duties
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time by the Strategy Co-ordinator or Board of Directors.
